Nate the Great and the Tardy Tortoise

Storybook about a child detective and a tortoise

Nate the Great and the Tardy Tortoise

Nate woke up one morning and found a small tortoise eating the flowers in his garden. Curious as to where it came from, he set out on his investigative work to help it get back home. Along the search, he also found the other pair of sock his friend Claude had lost but would only want it back if it still looked the same. Since it was already torn, Nate used it as a flag to mark Speedy’s (the tortoise) residence area, maybe it won’t get lost anymore.

This title from the series offers a lot to learn about one of our reptile pals, like the slowest to the fastest turtle and other interesting facts. It also suggests many turtle related activities.

I think Nate is really great because he showed kindness to an animal he found. He did not harm it when it was eating his flowers, instead he cared about the turtle and went out of his way to bring it back home to safety.
